Sehari, 300 Juta Orang Bikin Instagram Stories dan WhatsApp Status

Harianbogor.com - Teknologi, Pengguna fitur video Stories di Instagram dan Status di WhatsApp terus meningkat. Mark Zuckerberg, bos Facebook, mengumumkan bahwa kedua fitur tersebut secara aktif digunakan oleh 300 juta pengguna setiap harinya.

Angka tersebut diraih dengan cepat oleh Instagram dan WhatsApp. Baru pada bulan Juni lalu, Instagram meraih 250 juta pengguna aktif harian untuk fitur Stories.

Sementara itu, WhatsApp mencapai angka 250 juta pengguna aktif harian untuk fitur Status pada bulan Juli lalu.

Ironisnya, fitur yang dinilai "menyontek" Snapchat ini lebih laku dibanding Snapchat.

Sebagaimana KompasTekno kutip dari Techcrunch, Jumat (3/11/2017), perolehan Instagram Stories dan Status WhatsApp mengungguli Snapchat hampir dua kali lipat. Dilaporkan, Snapchat hanya meraih 173 juta pengguna aktif harian untuk fitur yang mirip itu.


Saat ini, sebagian besar produk Facebook, seperti Instagram Stories,Facebook Stories, dan Messenger Day memiliki teknologi augmented reality face filter, di mana fitur tersebut dikatakan memiliki fungsi yang sama dengan Snapchat.

Dari 'time spent ' ke 'time well spent'

Zuckerberg mengatakan Facebook menggeser fokus manfaat aplikasi dari "time spent" atau sekadar menghabiskan waktu, ke arah "time well spent" atau menghabiskan waktu lebih baik dengan membina komunitas melalui video.

Ia menjelaskan bahwa interaksi aktif melalui media sosial dengan kerabat akan lebih bermanfaat dibanding menggunakan media sosial secara pasif.

"Penelitian menunjukan bahwa interaksi dengan teman dan keluarga di media sosial cenderung lebih bermakna dan baik bagi kesejahteraan. Tetapi jika hanya mengonsumsi konten saja, maka hal itu (manfaat) tidaklah baik," kata Zuckerberg.

Karena Instagram Stories dan Status WhatsApp hanya bisa dilihat oleh orang-orang tertentu, perasaan berkomunitas di aplikasi produk Facebook meningkat. Dengan seringnya para pengguna melihat video-video pendek, maka akan menjadi keuntungan pula bagi iklan yang ikut "terselip" di Instagram Stories.

Saat ini separuh lebih dari 500 juta pengguna aktif harian Instagram telah menggunakan Instagram Stories. Ini menunjukan cikal bakal Stories menjadi aplikasi masa depan.

Gagasan tersebut didukung oleh gebrakan baru Instagram yang membubuhkan preview tiles stories yang mendorong penggunanya untuk menonton Stories.
